The Westmont Police Department, in Illinois,  is accepting applications for its annual citizens’ police academy, which gives residents a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of the department.
Classes will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m., for 10 weeks, each Wednesday beginning March 11 at the Westmont Police Department, 500 N. Cass Ave.
The purpose of the class is to increase the understanding and communication of the police department, it’s police officers, and the community. The program shows what an officer does in his daily job and the issues facing law enforcement today.
