The Gender Responsive Policing (GRP) project in collaboration with National Police Bureau is organising a training programme for police officers commencing on tomorrow (Monday) at National Police Academy, Islamabad.
Mid-career police officers and those performing their duties as trainers have been selected from across the country for this programme.
This training is expected to help the police officers in dealing with women victims with sensitivity and respect, which would help in reducing gender, based violence in the country.

The law enforcement training academy is no laughing matter especially the first couple weeks, where instructors will try to break you mentally. You’ll come to realize that the police academy is not for the weak. You’ll be on a short leech throughout the academy. If you fail any of the training courses like criminal law, evasive driving, and/or crime scene investigation procedures you’ll be booted from the academy. You will not be given a third or fourth chance to pass exams that you’ve already failed.

City police are looking for a few good citizens.
Applications are being accepted for the 12th annual Citizens Police Academy, which begins March 17 and continues to May 5.
Applications can be picked up at the front desk at the police station, 344 Elgin St., and are also available at the police service’s website at www.police.brantford.on.ca
The academy is an opportunity to learn more about policing. Topics covered include forensic identification, major crime investigation, Internet predators and how to protect your children, use of force as well as accident investigation and reconstruction.

Police Academies across the nation tend to follow state by state requirements.  Usually there is a governing authority for civil service that will place the standards for the Police Academy on a state by state basis; however as general rule we will give you some of the requirements that are generally accepted nationwide.
