Moose Jaw Police Service’s new K-9 unit has graduated from it’s five-month training program.
Constable Chad Scheske and his German Shepherd Banan along with Constable Jay Sills and his dog “Andy” received certificates for Drug Detection and General duties at the Board of Police Commissioners regular meeting Tuesday at City Hall.
The two German Shepherd are now two years old and are brothers from the same litter born in Washington State. Brian Amm of Canine Resources and Consulting says Shepherd are often chosen as police dogs because of their reliability.

Class 27 of the Frisco Citizen’s Police Academy will begin Feb. 11.  The program is currently accepting applications and urges interested people to apply as soon as possible, as they receive more applications than there are available seats each year.
The Frisco Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) educates citizens who live or work in Frisco about the police department and its divisions and practices.
Participants of the CPA program get first-hand exposure to the police department, its personnel and equipment, and are able to put themselves in officers’ shoes each Thursday night class …

You may be thinking, I want to go to the Police Academy but how can I possibly prepare for what is next?
Well here it is in a netshell… You better prepare for the ride of your life.
The Police Department is a paramilitary organization and the training is such that you are required to be physically and mentally challenged.
