The city’s newest police recruits are members of the most diverse class in NYPD history, and also one of the smallest due to the city’s budget crisis. NY1’s Lily Jamali filed the following report.
They’re known as the class that almost wasn’t. At least that’s how it seemed for the week Mayor Michael Bloomberg deferred hiring the latest batch of New York City Police Department recruits because of uncertainty about funding.
