Construction underway on a new police academy in Helena Montana

14 August 2009 No Comment

The center will be used as a classroom for both entry-level and advanced law enforcement training programs.

Kevin Olson, the administrator of the police academy, said, “We’re excited we’ve had a good construction season. We’re on track and on time, and as you can see the campus is tore up, we’re kind of in full-blown construction because we have two construction projects going simultaneously, but we’re fairly excited.”

The project had an estimated budget of $3.1 million, but Olson says it looks like it will only cost $2.9 million. The completed facility is expected to open its doors by April of 2010.

This will be a great addition to the Montana Police Academies.
