Openings available for Quincy Citizen Police Academy

The Quincy Police Department is filling the spring 2010 class of the Citizen Police Academy.

The 10-week course on Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 starts Feb. 18 and goes until April 22. There is a graduation banquet held at the completion of the academy.

Citizens will get to know their police department and participate in classroom instruction as well as hands-on practicals. This course is free of charge and will provide citizens with a basic knowledge of all aspects of the police profession.

To be eligible for the course, applicants must live in Quincy, work in Quincy, or own property in Quincy. Applicants must also be at least 18 years of age.
