Evans Police Department is Hosting Citizens Police Academy Beginning March 23
The Evans Police Department is hosting a Citizens’ Police Academy for residents.
The 10-week program begins March 23 and is free. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the work of police officers. Training will include crime-scene investigations, Taser instruction, firearms training and other faces related to being an Evans police officer.
The academy, which is in its 13th year, is designed to open channels of communication between residents and the Evans Police Department. The objective is to not make police officers out of residents, but to enlighten them about the department’s responsibilities and functions.
For more information or to sign up, call Officer Lisa Duffy at (970) 475-1162 or e-mail lduffy@ci.evans.co.us. Applications can be picked up at the Evans Police Department, 1100 37th St. in Evans.
